Seriously, I’m Not Your Sweetheart

Sweetheart. Darling. Honey. Baby. Hun. Cutie. Sweetie. Dear. What do all these terms of endearment have in common? I have been called them by people who have absolutely no business calling me by them. 

I am a low lying manager at a grocery store, and I’m in a department that in almost any grocery store has little to no women - night crew.  It’s a crazy environment and most nights I’m one of two women in the whole store who work there, the other being the cashier.  I love working on the stocking team, and even more so that I’ve done so well to have moved up, but it’s not something a lot of other people in the store, or company even are quite used to.
